Government Incompetence

It’s About Our Poverty Stupid!

7/25/2010 – Al Boese -
Our poverty and debt burden is wearing us down, our confidence is waning and we see no path out of the morass. Individuals and businesses are faced with unprecedented uncertainty. We are the deer in the headlights; just standing there, stationary and static in our behavior. As we survey the landscape, we view crumbling infrastructure, businesses are choosing not to invest in growth, sitting on $1.8 trillion of cash, some of our neighbors’ houses are either foreclosed or in a short sale because they are under- or completely unemployed, or recklessly indebted. Small businesses are not able to obtain or maintain working capital credit lines and they are uncertain of the next regulatory volley from the government, so they refuse to hire or grow. Furthermore the elephant in the room, porous borders and illegal immigrants, are scandalously and recklessly ignored or politicized. more »

America’s Fast Track to the Third World

7/21/2010 – Dan Gorski -
The Department of Defense has sounded an alarm about our access to a strategically vital group of metals called the rare earth elements. A report on the problem prepared by the GAO is not pretty. It concludes that the Chinese now control the production, processing, and manufacture of final products of these vital metals and now own the patents for many of these processes. more »

Oil Spill Timeline Video Highlights Obama’s Incompetence

Stupid in Chief7/15/2010 – B. Chrysostom -

A new video produced by RightChange.com highlights the reckless incompetence of Obama’s lack of leadership and effective response to the BP oil spill disaster. Using images, video clips, and information about Obama’s activities in the 70 days since the BP Deepwater Horizon rig exploded and sank in the Gulf of Mexico. The video timeline is a powerful condemnation of Obama’s inability to act as President, deal with reality, and help with this massive crisis.

The video correctly blames Obama for not being ready to lead and lacking the necessary experience and ability to lead. It concludes with a call to action:

We need real leadership for America.

Help us elect and support new leadership this November.

Here’s part of the devastating timeline the video documents:

Day 1: The BP Deepwater Horizon oil rig explodes, killing 11 workers.

Day 3: The Dutch government offered the world’s most advanced oil skimming technology. Citing the Jones Act, “He [Obama] says… No.” …to protect his union buddies. more »

Barack Obama: The Great Jobs Killer

Wayne Allyn Root

Wayne Allyn Root

7/4/2010 – Wayne Allyn Root -

As former President Ronald Reagan might have said, “Obama, there you go again.”

The current occupant of the White House claims to know how to create jobs. He claims jobs have been created. But so far the score is Great Obama Depression 2.2 million lost jobs, Obama 0 — a blowout.

Obama is as hopeless, helpless, clueless and bankrupt of good ideas as the manager of the Chicago Cubs in late September. This “community organizer” knows as much about private-sector jobs as Pamela Anderson knows about nuclear physics.

It’s time to call Obama what he is: The Great Jobs Killer. With his massive spending and tax hikes — rewarding big government and big unions, while punishing taxpayers and business owners — Obama has killed jobs, he has killed motivation to create new jobs, he has killed the motivation to invest in new businesses, or expand old ones. With all this killing, Obama should be given the top spot on the FBI’s Most Wanted List. more »

Steve Wynn: China is Stable, America is Not!

Steve Wynn

Steve Wynn

6/27/2010 – Chris Banescu -

In a recent interview, Steve Wynn, the successful American casino resort and real-estate developer, made some shocking observations about the unstable and aggressively anti-business atmosphere in America perpetuated by our own government. In his interview with CNBC, Steve expressed the nightmarish situation that US companies face due to the arbitrary, punitive, and misguided manner in which legislators in Washington, DC continue to endlessly tax and regulate businesses in America, while our economy continues to suffer and deteriorate.

In a criticism clearly directed at President Obama and the Democrats, Mr. Wynn focused on the key reason why America is now less stable and less business-friendly than even China: our own incompetent government in Washington! He explained how China now offers more political stability, more opportunities, and much more business-friendly environment than the United States: more »

Steve Wynn: No Common Sense in Washington

Steve Wynn

Steve Wynn

6/25/2010 – Chris Banescu –

Steve Wynn, the American entrepreneur and casino resort/real-estate developer, was recently interviewed by CNBC for the opening of his new Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas. During the questions and answers session with the correspondent, the billionaire business owner addressed some of the most serious problems American companies face and the incompetent manner in which politicians in Washington, DC are handling the economic situation and the unpredictable manner in which they continue to aggressively punish US businesses.

In the interview Wynn talks about the lack of common sense that has disappeared in Washington and the completely out-of-control spending that is fueling the massive national debt:

“It’s common sense that’s disappeared in Washington DC. It’s common sense that’s disappeared in the years of 7 and 8 in America. We’re inheriting the awful results, both in our government … of wild, uncontrolled spending, unbelievable, unsustainable debt.

And yet, here we are, doing it again, $20 billion a month to the FHA. On top of what happens to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. We’re doing it again today for $20 billion a month! We’re destroying the housing market, again; under the name of a stimulus, phony misrepresented names.”

Brewer to Obama: Warning Signs Are Not Enough

Brewer to Obama - Warning Signs Are Not Enough6/25/2010 – B. Chrysostom –

Governor Jan Brewer has just released another video message where she, once again, speaks out against Obama’s complete failure to secure the US borders and help Arizona control the massive illegal immigration invasion plaguing that state.

Governor Brewer takes on Obama’s lies that “our border is as safe as it has ever been” and she challenges the President to do his constitutionally mandated job of securing our borders and protecting the citizens of Arizona and of the United States.

This conservative woman has the guts and determination to challenge Obama’s incompetence and dereliction of duties.

May God bless Gov. Brewer! America needs more governors and leaders like her to speak the truth, use the media to send the message to Obama that his lies and failures will be challenged, and help us rescue America from the radicals in Washington who are destroying our country. more »

Can’t Control the Criminal? Control the Law-Abiding

Active Drug and Human Smuggling Area

Active Drug and Human Smuggling Area - Arizona Warning Sign

6/19/2010 – Isaac Martin -

It was an edge-of-the-radar-screen news story that I happen to notice, surfing the Fox News web site. The story was about the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, which is located west of Douglas, Arizona and its southern boundary is adjacent to the Mexican border.

According to the report, and refuge website, 3500 acres have been posted off limits to visitors, due to the presence of drug and human smuggling. Rather than dealing effectively to secure the border, Federal officials have ceded 3500 acres to drug cartels and smugglers. Granted, that acreage is only three percent of the 118,000 acre park and no doubt a small area which no one will really miss viewing.

This off-limits must also infer it’s OK for illegal aliens and criminals to tramp through a wildlife refuge, destroying the pristine environment with dead bodies, discarded clothes, empty food packages and bathroom tissue, because the government won’t enforce environmental laws, let alone border security. more »

Barack Obama Embraces His Inner Jimmy Carter

Obama Carter
6/17/2010 – Erick Erickson -

Perhaps it is because his chief speechwriter has spent the crisis playing beer pong in Georgetown bars. Perhaps it is because while embracing peak oil, the oil spill never piqued his blue state interests since it affected red states.

Whatever the reason, Barack Obama gave the most depressing Oval Office speech since Jimmy Carter’s malaise speech. He didn’t just embrace defeat, he wore it on his suit as a substitute for an argyle sweater. He tried to sound upbeat in the way a cop in a movie might sound when his partner lay mortally wounded and the cop needs to get the partner’s wife to the hospital without letting her know her husband is dying. It was a false optimism with Barack Obama distracting Americans in a game of three card monte.

The best summation of the speech comes from our own Caleb Howe, who tweeted, “Let me be clear. Some oil spilled. But Katrina. And make no mistake. I’m having meetings. In conclusion, something about China. Windmills!” That, ladies and gentlemen, is the President’s whole speech in 140 characters. more »

Goodbye to One Man, One Vote

Democracy Undermined by DOJ
6/17/2010 – Selwyn Duke -

If you thought that “one man, one vote” reflected the full flowering of representative democracy, think again. In the village of Port Chester, N.Y., just a few towns north of my locality in Westchester County, there is a new system. It’s “one (minority) man, six votes” — brought to us courtesy of the U.S. Department of Injustice and a lunkhead of a federal judge named Stephen Robinson.

Here’s the story: In 2006, the Injustice Department alleged that Port Chester’s election system was “unfair.” The problem? While the village is almost half Hispanic, no Hispanic had ever been elected as a trustee. more »

Mr. President, You’re Stuck on Stupid

Stupid in Chief
6/15/2010 – Christopher Chantrill -

It is true that liberalism is cruel, corrupt, wasteful, and unjust. But one should never forget its delusion. The delusion is a simple one. It is a belief that government can be made rational and efficient. This delusion leads our liberal friends into disaster after disaster.

Liberals were shocked that President Bush failed to get everyone tucked up in bed in a couple of days after Hurricane Katrina. They knew that a rational and efficient government, run by people like them who believed in government, could do better.

Now President Obama is busy proving them wrong.

Unfortunately, conservatives aren’t helping. In pointing out the serious lapses in the president’s leadership qualities, we conservatives are missing the point. We are encouraging liberals in their delusion. Instead, we should remind everyone that of course a bunch of corporate bureaucrats, combined with a bunch of government bureaucrats, are going to be a bit off the mark. more »

The Futility of Big Government

6/15/2010 – B.J. Bethel -
The old adage was always: “A conservative is a liberal who was mugged by reality.” In just a year, President Obama has been mugged not just by reality, but his own belief in the infallibility of big government.

Disappointment from President Obama’s cult-like following is growing, and it’s easy to see why. It was two years ago this month that Obama uttered his infamous statement on the importance of his election in relation to the environment. “The moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal,” was the phrase Obama used to describe his own nomination. more »

The Democrats’ Job Killing Policies Kill Jobs

6/9/2010 – Newt Gingrich -

The latest jobs report is solid evidence that Obama’s big government, high tax, Washington-centered, bureaucratic, politician-dominated system is going to kill jobs and extend the current economic problems far longer than what is normal for a recession.

None of this should come as a surprise. Job-killing policies kill jobs. It is that simple and direct.

In my new book To Save America: Stopping Obama’s Secular-Socialist Machine and in a keynote speech to the Detroit Chamber of Commerce last week, I outline the concept that 2+2=4 is the most important political and governmental slogan of the next 25 years. more »

Anti-Obama Billboard: ‘Who Will Pay the Piper?’

But Who Will Pay the Piper?

But Who Will Pay the Piper?

6/8/2010 – B. Chrysostom -

Another campaign is on the way in Arizona to wake the country to the financial disaster and economic nightmare Obama is foisting on America’s future. A very large billboard ad created by an anonymous advertiser shows President Obama’s face overlaid on a mock U.S. $100,000,000,000,000 (100 TRILLION dollars) bill with the message “But Who Will Pay the Piper?”

The powerful advertisement easily makes the point. It is us, our children, and grand-children, the American people and taxpayers, who will have to make the enormous sacrifices to pay down this astronomical debt made that much worse by Obama and the Democrat Congress in the last year and a half. more »

Subversive-in-Chief – Nuking Our Defense: America Exposed

Subversive-in-Chief - Nuking Our Defense6/8/2010 – John Griffing -
For the past few decades, members of both political parties have pursued drastic cuts in America’s defense infrastructure, all under the guise of peacetime “guns-to-butter” policies designed to increase social spending at the expense of military strength. But to date, no administration has left America without the basic tools it needed to meet the fundamental historic test of national security — the ability to execute two major wars in different theatres of deployment simultaneously.

Barack Obama is poised to be the first president to leave America at the mercy of its enemies. President Obama’s recent decision to begin announcing once-secret U.S. missile tests and satellite launches is just the first of many subversive acts carried out by the Obama administration against America’s defense. more »
