If there was ever any question what Feisal Abdul Rauf, the imam behind the Ground Zero mosque project, thought about America, the latest audio clip uncovered by Pamela Geller on her Atlas Shrugs blog should remove any doubt.  In the 2005 lecture the “moderate” imam said this about our country:

“We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al Qaida has on its hands of innocent non Muslims. You may remember that the US-led sanctions against Iraq led to the death of over half a million Iraqi children. This has been documented by the United Nations.”

President Obama has pledged more of your money to protect the unions and secure their vote. The administration demanded and got $26 billion taxpayer dollars to spare 300,000 teachers and other public workers from the unemployment lines.

The hundreds of billions of taxpayer money already spent by Obama and the Democrats since 2009 to pay off their union supporters was apparently not enough. Despite giving $100 billion in new funding to the Department of Education (DOE), courtesy of The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009, in addition to the $25 billion bailout that saved the GM and Chrysler auto union workers, more is needed to thank them for their continuing support and unquestioning loyalty. more »

Lawrence Solomon recently reported that G20 leaders in Toronto tried to avoid the fate of colleagues felled by warming advocacy by turning their backs on global warming legislation.

Will the “mainstream” media in the U.S. report these findings? Not likely!

A newly released video exposes the radical left’s malevolent strategy to overwhelm America’s system of government, undermine our Constitution, and destroy our free-market economy. The YouTube clip highlights the tactics known as the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” designed to hasten the collapse of capitalism and our democratic system via manufactured crisis and impossible demands on our social structures. These diabolical schemes are already being deployed by Obama and the Democrats to foster fear, fuel instability, and spread chaos and misery across the nation.

The video begins with an ominous warning that most conservatives already know and understand, but many still don’t seem to get or want to believe:

It is true that liberalism is cruel, corrupt, wasteful, and unjust. But one should never forget its delusion. The delusion is a simple one. It is a belief that government can be made rational and efficient. This delusion leads our liberal friends into disaster after disaster.

Liberals were shocked that President Bush failed to get everyone tucked up in bed in a couple of days after Hurricane Katrina. They knew that a rational and efficient government, run by people like them who believed in government, could do better.

Now President Obama is busy proving them wrong.

Unfortunately, conservatives aren’t helping. In pointing out the serious lapses in the president’s leadership qualities, we conservatives are missing the point. We are encouraging liberals in their delusion. Instead, we should remind everyone that of course a bunch of corporate bureaucrats, combined with a bunch of government bureaucrats, are going to be a bit off the mark. more »

Having thumbed his nose at the will of the American people and our legal system, Obama is taking it up another notch. He is demanding that illegal immigrants detainees, half of which have criminal histories, should be treated like resort guests and afforded even more privileges and comforts. And he’s doing this while Americans are suffering through one of the worst recessions in our nation’s history, more than 15 million Americans are still out of work, unemployment rates hover around 10%, personal foreclosure rates and bankruptcies continue to rise, and the standard of living deteriorates for millions of households across the country.

The Houston Chronicle reports that the Obama administration has ordered the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) department to implement multiple modifications to their facilities to make life easier, more comfortable, and pleasant for the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants (approximately 400,000) it detains annually. An internal ICE email highlights 28 different changes the organization will have to make to soften the look of the facilities, present a friendlier environment to the illegals, offer better entertainment, organize fun activities, and provide illegals with free access to email and phone services, as well as better dining and training classes. more »

A survey conducted by Zogby to determine how well people of different political stripes understand economics found that progressives and liberals were woefully ignorant of even the most basic concepts of economics. Some might laugh, but this survey is more than just an academic exercise. It provides insight into why Barack Obama and the progressive Democrats in Congress continue to pass laws and implement policies that do nothing but drive down our economy and drive up unemployment. Listening to America’s liberals, who now prefer to call themselves progressives, one would think that free markets benefit the rich and harm the poor, but little can be further from the truth. First, let’s first say what free markets are. Free markets, or laissez-faire capitalism, refer to an economic system where there is no government interference except to outlaw and prosecute fraud and coercion. It ought to be apparent that our economy cannot be described as free market because there is extensive government interference. We have what might be called a mixed economy, one with both free market and socialistic attributes. If one is poor or of modest means, where does he fare better: in the freer and more open sector of our economy or in the controlled and highly regulated sector? Let’s look at it. more »

We often hear the left and liberals claim that illegal immigrants, especially those from Mexico, only come here to work. Unfortunately, an increasingly larger percentage of those who break the law and enter the country illegally come here solely to benefit from America’s generous social welfare system, free healthcare provided to anyone that walks into an emergency room, and the many free government programs.

Take a look at the chart provided (courtesy of Stand with Arizona). It shows that “Mexican immigrants use America’s social services at multiples not only to native-born Americans, but other immigrants as well–using more than TWICE the amount of total welfare as native-born Americans.” more »

Liberals say that they love the poor, needy, and disadvantaged. Unfortunately, however, the economic philosophy that liberals favor constitutes a direct assault on the economic well-being of the poor, along with nearly everyone else in society.

Liberals claim to combat poverty in two principal ways.

First, they use the force of government (e.g., income taxes) to take money from those who have earned it in order to give it to the poor.

Second, they restrict people’s use of their property to enable the poor to have access to such property. more »

And the tax cuts the President often talks about are, by and large, one-time checks that will do nothing to protect the taxpayer from future tax hikes. And he is concealing many tax increases in his budget right now. more »

NYPD Removing Bikes for Obama's Earth Day Visit

Happy Earth Day from Obama to all those New York bike riders!

Obama has no idea what he just got himself into. Someone sent this photo to the blog This Is FYF, which reports that “citing security concerns that bikes might be secret pipe bombs, NYPD officers clipped the locks of hundreds of bikes along Houston Street this morning in preparation for President Obama’s speech at Cooper Union.

The bikes were unceremoniously put in the back of the truck. Onlookers were not given information as to what would become of the bikes. Happy Earth Day!”

Oh boy, this is going to cause quite a stir in NYC! more »

America’s Religious Left, having invested decades in dialogue with and advocating accommodation of the Soviet Bloc, was flummoxed and uncelebratory about the momentous collapse of East European Communism in 1989-1990.

The United Methodist Council of Bishops, representing 9 million church members in the U.S. were actually in session when the Berlin Wall fell in November 1989. They reacted by blandly commending the East Germans for their “openness and growing self- confidence” and by urging a “new trust and compassion throughout the world.” They also warned against the imposition of Eastern or Western value systems, as though the two were morally equal. more »
