Listening to America’s liberals, who now prefer to call themselves progressives, one would think that free markets benefit the rich and harm the poor, but little can be further from the truth. First, let’s first say what free markets are. Free markets, or laissez-faire capitalism, refer to an economic system where there is no government interference except to outlaw and prosecute fraud and coercion. It ought to be apparent that our economy cannot be described as free market because there is extensive government interference. We have what might be called a mixed economy, one with both free market and socialistic attributes. If one is poor or of modest means, where does he fare better: in the freer and more open sector of our economy or in the controlled and highly regulated sector? Let’s look at it. more »

We often hear the left and liberals claim that illegal immigrants, especially those from Mexico, only come here to work. Unfortunately, an increasingly larger percentage of those who break the law and enter the country illegally come here solely to benefit from America’s generous social welfare system, free healthcare provided to anyone that walks into an emergency room, and the many free government programs.

Take a look at the chart provided (courtesy of Stand with Arizona). It shows that “Mexican immigrants use America’s social services at multiples not only to native-born Americans, but other immigrants as well–using more than TWICE the amount of total welfare as native-born Americans.” more »

Liberals say that they love the poor, needy, and disadvantaged. Unfortunately, however, the economic philosophy that liberals favor constitutes a direct assault on the economic well-being of the poor, along with nearly everyone else in society.

Liberals claim to combat poverty in two principal ways.

First, they use the force of government (e.g., income taxes) to take money from those who have earned it in order to give it to the poor.

Second, they restrict people’s use of their property to enable the poor to have access to such property. more »

NYPD Removing Bikes for Obama's Earth Day Visit

Happy Earth Day from Obama to all those New York bike riders!

Obama has no idea what he just got himself into. Someone sent this photo to the blog This Is FYF, which reports that “citing security concerns that bikes might be secret pipe bombs, NYPD officers clipped the locks of hundreds of bikes along Houston Street this morning in preparation for President Obama’s speech at Cooper Union.

The bikes were unceremoniously put in the back of the truck. Onlookers were not given information as to what would become of the bikes. Happy Earth Day!”

Oh boy, this is going to cause quite a stir in NYC! more »

America’s Religious Left, having invested decades in dialogue with and advocating accommodation of the Soviet Bloc, was flummoxed and uncelebratory about the momentous collapse of East European Communism in 1989-1990.

The United Methodist Council of Bishops, representing 9 million church members in the U.S. were actually in session when the Berlin Wall fell in November 1989. They reacted by blandly commending the East Germans for their “openness and growing self- confidence” and by urging a “new trust and compassion throughout the world.” They also warned against the imposition of Eastern or Western value systems, as though the two were morally equal. more »

What I don’t like is the way rich liberals, who have made their money through the operations of the capitalist system and who would be miserable bureaucratic cogs in a socialist system, are nevertheless socialists. I suspect that a large part of their motivation is a style of asceticism which has been fashionable among the rich since the time of the Pharisees. Another motivation for the rich liberals to dislike the capitalist system is that they have already gotten theirs and they don’t want to be challenged by other people coming along and getting theirs. more »

The left loves to hide. This is why leftists reject the label “liberal” in favor of “progressive” or some other meaningless term. This is also why leftists must describe their opponents as the “hard right” or “right-wing extremists,” rather than simply respond to the serious policy issues their opponents raise.

The establishment media, which has been obviously tilted to the left for fifty years, petulantly denies any leftist bias. This utter denial continues more than forty years after Agnew’s speech against the television elites in 1969 and in spite of polling data, such as a Gallup poll which shows a huge plurality considering the media more liberal than conservative and a Zogby Poll which shows 64% of Americans seeing a liberal bias in the media. more »

Ironically, Americans are known as freedom fighters, coming to the aid and rescue of many countries, freeing and securing them from tyranny. Presently, Americans find themselves fighting for their own freedom from tyranny under Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the rest of the Democrat-led Congress. The American people have been consistent and clear in their will: kill the ObamaCare bill.

We all agree that the Democrats are committing political suicide and a mauling is going to take place in November with the GOP gaining a significant number of seats in Congress–maybe even the long shot of a 2/3 majority to override any presidential vetoes and even impeach Obama and members of Congress. Goals, indeed.

Americans keep asking what is going on in this country because they just cannot grasp the tyranny the country is experiencing. Clearly, there is an underlying plan that is being [en]forced, against our will, because Obama knows this is be the last time in possibly a generation the progressive Democrats will have the power to execute the fall of America into a socialistic state–their ultimate goal.
