How to Regulate America Out of Business

Obama and Leftist Marxist vision for America8/27/2010 – Jeffrey Folks -

Vladimir Lenin had a much simpler time of it. Following the October Revolution, he swiftly nationalized nearly all industry, commerce, and agriculture in the Soviet Union. Those who opposed the takeovers, such as those millions of small landowners known as the kulaks, were executed or sent to die in Siberia.

American leftists are far more civilized. Rather than send landowners and stockowners to Siberia, they simply raise federal and state taxes to combined marginal rates of 60% and subject the rest to estate taxes after the owner dies. If the owner fails to pay up, he is marched off to prison. Meanwhile, corporations are subject to another form of control: the tyranny of activists on government agencies that view the private sector as the means of social change. more »

The Threat to Personal Liberty

8/1/2010 – Harvey M. Sheldon -
Many believe the 2010 elections will save America from social and economic disaster. However, the progressives are intent on imposing their vision on us, and they will pull no punches in trying to paint their opponents as Neanderthals, racists, or whatever other slander opportunity provides. They will be funded by untold dollars from a variety of sources, from the naïve and still trusting to the dedicated opportunists, well-heeled socialists, Machiavellian billionaires, and profit-seekers. more »

Will Washington’s Failures Lead To Second American Revolution?

7/30/2010 – Ernest S. Christian & Gart A Robbins -
The Internet is a large-scale version of the “Committees of Correspondence” that led to the first American Revolution — and with Washington’s failings now so obvious and awful, it may lead to another.

People are asking, “Is the government doing us more harm than good? Should we change what it does and the way it does it?”

Pruning the power of government begins with the imperial presidency. more »

The Democrats’ War on the West

7/23/2010 – Michelle Malkin -
“Why do they hate us?” It’s a burning question on the minds of border-dwelling taxpayers, small-business owners, farmers, and Rocky Mountain oil and gas industry workers suffering under punitive Democrat policies. Eighteen months into the Barack Obama administration, the war on the American West is in full swing.

The first battlefront: immigration. On Wednesday, Senate Democrats rejected a GOP amendment banning the use of federal funds to participate in any litigation against the new Arizona immigration enforcement law. more »

Goodbye, America – it was nice knowing you!

6/30/2010 – Aliza Davidovit –

The other day I incidentally drove by the Apple store in Manhattan and was really amused and disheartened by the long line of thousands of people waiting to pick up their iphone 4Gs. As this country is falling apart, it becomes evermore clear to me why: We are still living in La La Land. I questioned when the last time was New Yorkers formed such a queue to protest a government wrongdoing and lined up outside their congressman’s door.

Undoubtedly, these hoarders of high-tech phones have seen a news flash or two and are aware that times are no good and are spiraling quickly downward. So why don’t they get it? Why don’t they realize that they are standing in the “wrong” line? And it dawned on me: It’s because we are a society and a generation reared on Hollywood endings. Things will be OK; things will work out; America will bounce back.

But, my dear readers, as the president and his administration proceed to fundamentally transform America as he promised, the floor under our feet, the one we were hoping to bounce back from, is being shattered. There is a dark deep abyss beneath, an unknown that those not blinded by the happy-ending syndrome believe is a socialist agenda at best, one that will destroy the United States of America. more »

Destroying America via the Cloward-Piven Strategy

Left Destroying America Cloward-Piven Strategy6/30/2010 – B. Chrysostom -

A newly released video exposes the radical left’s malevolent strategy to overwhelm America’s system of government, undermine our Constitution, and destroy our free-market economy. The YouTube clip highlights the tactics known as the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” designed to hasten the collapse of capitalism and our democratic system via manufactured crisis and impossible demands on our social structures. These diabolical schemes are already being deployed by Obama and the Democrats to foster fear, fuel instability, and spread chaos and misery across the nation.

The video begins with an ominous warning that most conservatives already know and understand, but many still don’t seem to get or want to believe:

“President Obama is not trying to lead America forward to recover, prosperity and strength. Quite the opposite in fact.”

Freedom of Speech Held Hostage: House Approves “DISCLOSE” Act

Democracy Undermined by DOJ
6/24/2010 – Admin at Uncoverage.net -

We are in a constitutional crisis on many levels but today the First Amendment right to free speech has been trampled by Democrats who are hanging on with their fingernails.

The Democrat-controlled House has pulled another fast one in a blatant, desperate attempt to shut down the voices of opposition prior to this November’s elections.

The House has just voted to criminalize speech by grassroots groups. There are criminal provisions in this bill which will can put people in jail for opposing points of view. Let me repeat, there are criminal provisions in this bill which include JAIL for expressing political views and not following the byzantine reporting rules which noone will be able to understand.

The so-called “Disclose Act” is about anything BUT disclosure; it is about placing impossible, confusing and punishing controls on grassroots organizations such as the Tea Party movement, and other conservative groups. more »

Is U.S. Now On Slippery Slope To Tyranny?

Thomas Sowell

Thomas Sowell

6/21/2010 – Thomas Sowell –

When Adolf Hitler was building up the Nazi movement in the 1920s, leading up to his taking power in the 1930s, he deliberately sought to activate people who did not normally pay much attention to politics.

Such people were a valuable addition to his political base, since they were particularly susceptible to Hitler’s rhetoric and had far less basis for questioning his assumptions or his conclusions. “Useful idiots” was the term supposedly coined by V.I. Lenin to describe similarly unthinking supporters of his dictatorship in the Soviet Union.

Put differently, a democracy needs informed citizens if it is to thrive, or ultimately even survive.

In our times, American democracy is being dismantled, piece by piece, before our very eyes by the current administration in Washington, and few people seem to be concerned about it. more »

Goodbye to One Man, One Vote

Democracy Undermined by DOJ
6/17/2010 – Selwyn Duke -

If you thought that “one man, one vote” reflected the full flowering of representative democracy, think again. In the village of Port Chester, N.Y., just a few towns north of my locality in Westchester County, there is a new system. It’s “one (minority) man, six votes” — brought to us courtesy of the U.S. Department of Injustice and a lunkhead of a federal judge named Stephen Robinson.

Here’s the story: In 2006, the Injustice Department alleged that Port Chester’s election system was “unfair.” The problem? While the village is almost half Hispanic, no Hispanic had ever been elected as a trustee. more »

More Political Climate Science

6/6/2010 – Patrick J. Michaels -
In today’s odd academic culture, including the world of climate science, academic freedom applies selectively. People use their positions and their email for politicking and electioneering and have no trouble retaining their jobs. But using your email to send out some inconvenient, apolitical weather data that says something your boss or your governor may not like can get you fired. more »

The End of Democratic Socialism

5/29/2010 – Monty Pelerin -
The end of democratic socialism is at hand. The welfare states of the U.S. and Europe are financially out of control, spent and unsustainable. They have reached the point that Margaret Thatcher defined as the end of socialism: They have run out of other people’s money. These areas of the world are about to change dramatically.

Victor Davis Hanson has a piece in National Review Online focused on Europe. His comments, while directed at Europe, are also applicable to the United States. more »

Times Square Bomber is a Registered Democrat

5/4/2010 – Greg Hedgepath -

Times Square Bomber, Faisal Shahzad is a registered Democrat. What? a registered Democrat, your kidding, I thought that the violent side of America could only be found in the Tea Party. Oh My . I wonder how Olberman and Madcow will blather about this little bit of news? Perhaps they can get advise from Mathews on what to say on air. If he can stop the quiver from running up is leg long enough to come up with a coherent thought. more »

Government Greed, San Francisco Style

4/30/2010 – IBD –

Nowhere has liberalism gone further than in San Francisco. And few, if any, other cities can boast such a well-heeled work force. Is this what “spreading the wealth” is all about?

We have seen the future and it works — for certain people. Take San Francisco municipal workers. The San Francisco Chronicle recently detailed just how overpaid the city’s employees are. Their average yearly salary is $93,000 before benefits. A third of them made more than $100,000 in 2009. A newly retired deputy police chief (not even the city’s top cop) made $516,118.

Now San Francisco is not the inevitable future of America. It does, however, represent one possible path. It’s a promised land of liberalism, both social and fiscal. more »

Democrats Scrambling to Deploy Tea Party Crashers

Kathy Sullivan, Democrat

Kathy Sullivan, Democrat

by Shawn Millerick | 4/14/2010

New Hampshire Democrats are engaged in a statewide search for liberal activists willing to attend so-called tea parties on Thursday and carry signs expressing racist or fringe sentiments, a Democratic source with knowledge of the effort tells NowHampshire.com.

According to the source, who sought anonymity for fear of reprisals, the Dems’ last minute scramble reflects a growing obsession among party leaders that they need to discredit the tea party movement soon or it will overwhelm them come the November election.

Former Democratic State Party Chairman Kathy Sullivan is heading up the search, the source said. Sullivan has been calling and e-mailing liberal activists trying to get them to attend tea parties in different parts of the state and hold signs denying the authenticity of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate and make racially disparaging comments to reporters. more »

Big Brother Becomes Big Bully

American Thinker | by Ed Lasky | 3/29/2010

The government in the Age of Obama has gone beyond the big brother that watches out and cares for us. Instead, it has becomes the big brother that torments and bullies us and then takes what is rightfully ours: our savings, our freedom, and our futures.

Liberals are often labeled as wanting to bring out the nanny state (the feminine version of a big brother). This is wrong. A nanny cares for her wards so that they can mature into responsible adults able to take care of themselves. more »
